it snowed today
Ok my co-workers kept saying 'spot the Texan' and rightfully so because as they were dismissing the flurries that tumbled down I was busy frolicking in them and doing some sort of appreciative snow dance. It was great...thouroughly enjoyed by myself. Yesterday my thighs literally froze and went numb...no lie. I hear it's 80 degrees in Dallas right...that's cruel man, real cruel. I miss y'all. Until next time...

some notes on stockings
Hmm, yes, I can see that could be an issue. I think it could be something to do with the weather over here. It's pretty cold and therefore British people are pale blue (on holiday, it takes them a week to get white), and therefore stockings add a 'sheen' to the leg.

Anyway, hope everyone's well. It's very cold here, but I have a sneaky feeling we're not going to see any snow this year. While it's chilly, it's not been as cold as previous years and it's not long 'til Spring!
So this weekend we're off to see a British folk band Saturday night with Dan, Russell, mum, dad & Liz which should be fun. I'm a big fan of these guys, even though they're 'old fogeys' according to most of my friends. I guess you could say this is our equivalent of country music in that they sing about the land and stuff.... check em out http://www.showofhands.co.uk/ - Rusty, I think you'd like them - there's a good song online called Are We Alright you can download.
Then Sunday morning we're going to meet Miles at Tower Bridge to watch Ellen MacArthur sail up the Thames after completing her round-the-world race. Then we're off to Borough Market for lunch. OK, so you have some idea of what I'm going on about, see following links. Love Alex xxx

Hose are for Hos
Speaking of new jobs I just found out that I will probably be required to wear hose aka stockings at my new job. I don't understand how a very thin layer of nylon can make one's legs look more professional. Does that thin layer stifle all and any chance for sexual harrassment? Everytime I have ever been forced to wear the dreaded stockings all I have managed to do is put a run in them and have the crotch fall almost level with my knees. The only profession this sounds like is prostitution. I believe that the whole mentality towards the wearing of hose in the workplace is quite outdated, and it should be taken down, down, down. I want to form an organization, W.A.S. Women Against Stockings, and with time, we will prevail :).

Babies of the World
starting new job
Yo fam and friends,
I've started my new job today as a production runnner aka the production gopher (you know go for this go for that....get it? Ok sorry...) And so far so good. We have a really cool office in a swanky part of town with nice shops and restaurants. Brutey, you'll be glad to know you're the hot topic of conversation at the office. Your picture has been shown thousands of times and people are jealous. Hopefully when this gig is up I can come see you and the humans in May. I miss y'all. Until next time...

I dream of London
Although I have yet to join Al and Court across the pond, I thought that I would go ahead and blog away. I figured my first adventure in London could be completely fictional because I had a really weird dream last night about my first few days in London.
First I arrived only to find out that everyone on my program was a freakin' model. We are talking everyone except yours truly. Then they all hated each other and for some reason I was immediately shunned because I did not own any wooden hangers, an obvious reason to hate someone. I tried to play it cool and tell myself that the models would just have to get over my lack of wooden hangers. We then made this massive trek to our hotel which seemed like days, but the hotel was just next door. I think the evil models were trying to play a trick on me.
So I tried to lighten the mood by asking if everyone wanted to meet my sister and my bro-in-law. I received the reply, "Uh...yeah right we want toilet paper." (Freakin' Idiot Stick Figures with No Souls). So I went to my luggage to see if I had packed any (who knows?), and I realized that I had only packed pants. No shoes, no shirts, no undies (except for what I had on). By the way...I had on all red. I looked like a walking ketchup bottle. Well basically that is all I remember. I'm just thankful that this adventure is fictional and a part of my warped mind.
On a different note, I hope that Courtney will join me on a conquest to seek out all the Mexican food restaurants in London, rate them, and give them a review on the blog. I have a personal challenge in which to find the best Mexican in London (hey no one said that it would be great - just better than the others :) ).

London Calling
OK Y'all .... here goes. We decided that as Court & I are already over here and there's another Getter on the way, we'd start this 'blog' so you can find out what we're all up to on a regular basis. So if ever Court's bored at work, or Brooke needs to vent, or I'm having a 'bad Jude day' we can post something. And I have a feeling anyone can reply to postings too....MISS Y'ALL!!Love Alex
